NHK (Oct 8 2011): Nhật Bản hoan nghênh Mỹ nới lỏng lệnh khuyến cáo sơ tán

[...Ông Hosono nói ông hoanh nghênh việc Mỹ quyết định thay đổi khuyến cáo sơ tán đối với công dân Mỹ là cấm không được tới khu vực trong vòng bán kính 20km tính từ nhà máy điện Fukushima vì tôn trọng quyết định của chính phủ Nhật. Ông nói thêm rằng đây là kết quả của sự nỗ lực chung giữa hai nước trong việc xoá bỏ bất đồng về quy định khu vực khuyến cáo sơ tán. ]

NEWS.LUCASWHITEFIELDHIXON.COM (June 14 2011):Takanori Eto From University of Tokyo Files Lawsuit Against Japanese Government for Negligence

[Asked by reporters if he* thought his adversary was too strong for him to take on alone, Eto seemed confident. "The public opinion has changed completely since 3-11, and the world is not as it used to be. So I don't think I'm fighting something that is as strong as it was before." Eto is encouraging on Fukushima residents to join forces with him to sue the government.]   *Takanori Eto From University of Tokyo Files Lawsuit Against Japanese Government for Negligence

Trích: "IBM just launched a large research project focused on, how can we get information to help us deal better with emergency responses. One of the things that is emerging, is to use social networks. Information gathered from iPhone, Android Phones, any smart-phone, and combined with real data that you can get from sources. Then you patch that together into a model, and use that to better make decisions. People are grappling with that at the moment, I would say most emergency services are not set up to be able to deal with real catastrophes of that nature and size." ]

And the workers who had to get close to the unit for the venting had to get protective gear from the offsite crisis management center, 5 kilometers (3 miles) away from the plant.]

Make mag (March 29 2011) - Hackerspace Happenings: MAKE Interviews Tokyo’s Akiba

" Hackerspaces have tools and members with knowledge about how to make things from scratch and modify devices to suit their needs.
" If NYC Resistor existed when 9/11 occurred, I suspect that they would have had people and devices out there monitoring the situation immediately, and figuring out ways to address needs as the situation unfolded.
" If a major environmental disaster were to hit San Francisco, I can imagine that Noisebridge would have weather balloons, monitoring stations, and software to disseminate all the information to the public within days."

More: Bộ dosimeter và charger Arrow Tech.
